ENGAGEMENT SHOOT: A SNAP OF... ALESIA & RICHIE

Alesia & Richie’s engagement photoshoot - Castlefield, Manchester.

How did you get engaged?! Congratulations!

Richie and I have been together for a little bit more than 3 years, and I was over the moon when he proposed on our holiday in Cornwall. When we returned to Manchester, I wanted us to have an engagement photoshoot so that we could share the photos with friends and family, and also to be able to look back at them when we get old. It’s such an exciting time in our lives, and these photos will help us preserve it forever.

What did you enjoy most about your photo experience?

Honestly, I’ve liked every moment of it – from generating ideas to receiving the final images which were simply amazing. I also really enjoyed the photoshoot itself. Roxane put us at ease straightaway, and it all felt very natural. She also researched the location in advance (we wanted to have the photoshoot in the Castlefield area of Manchester because that’s where we went for our first date), so all we had to do is just turn up and be ourselves. She listened to our ideas and had lots of her own suggestions too which made the photoshoot great fun. The time just flew by. We all had plenty of giggles along the way too!

Did you enjoy the result? Which photo is your favourite?

Absolutely! I squealed with delight when I first saw the photos. Not only they appealed to me on the emotional level, but the colour, composition and all the technical qualities (such as sharpness) are perfect too. I’ll treasure these images for years to come.

It’s actually quite hard to choose my favourite ones.

I really like the one of us hugging with the canal in the background, but the ones on the staircase are great too – at that time we were not even aware that Roxane was photographing us, so we were not posing at all, and I think you can tell from looking at the photos that we were just having a good time!

Overall, did you have a good time?

We had an amazing time and wholeheartedly recommend RAW photography Manchester. They understood perfectly what we were after – a relaxed, documentary-style photoshoot. The communication before the shoot was excellent, they were punctual and clearly well prepared for the shoot.

It’s really great to deal with the creative professionals who have great personalities and are passionate about what they do.

Raw really managed to capture the feel of the place and our personalities, and produce the kinds of images we were after.
